Beautiful Stella and her pregnancy

Stella is glowing, pregnancy looks wonderful on her.

We started the session in studio and then went outdoors to Fish creek Park. We used some of the maternity gowns during the indoor part of the portrait session.

The part of Fish Creek that I use is Shannon Terrace. Lots of lush trees and beautiful landscape makes this a perfect place to photograph maternity sessions. I always adore shooting in Fish Creek, It’s my favourite place to be.

During the outdoor part of the session Stella used her own dress which looked amazing in the images. Soft pastel colours always looks beautiful, Stella certainly chose well for her outfit.

I always have so much fun with each and every client. I love asking questions about pregnancy. I’m a Mom of 4 and I know how special this time is in your life.

I never did maternity photos when I was pregnant and I am so sad that I never commemorated that special time in my life.

Congratulations on your upcoming arrival! Pregnancy is such a special time when you have the beautiful experience of carrying new life. Document this moment with beautiful and timeless photos. Maternity sessions last 1-1.5 hours and take place indoors at my home studio, and outdoors at Fish Creek which is located 10 minutes from my studio.

When should I schedule my maternity portraits?

The absolute best time to have your maternity portraits taken is when you are around 28-36 weeks (7 or 8 months). It’s best when your belly to be round enough to be seen when sitting or laying down, but for you still be comfortable enough to move around. If you are having twins/triplets, we’lll have to do your session a little earlier, around 6 months (before 24 weeks).

When should I contact you to book my session?
Most moms to be book around 16-22 weeks along, and because my studio books up in advance, I recommend booking your spot as early as you can.

What should I wear?
I provide gowns, and have a few floral headpieces. It’s always fun to go through the dresses and see which ones look best for your session.

It is highly recommended to have your hair and makeup professionally done by the stylists of your choice – I do not do hair and makeup myself. Some moms to be are already talented at their own hair and make up and that’s awesome too.

After booking your session, I will send a session preparation guide that has advice on how to prepare for your maternity session. You can go “shopping” in my maternity gown wardrobe once you arrive at my studio for your session, and I will guide you to the pieces that are most flattering for your figure. My gowns and pieces are stretchy and I will clamp and tuck for a custom fit as needed. Most of my pieces will fit S to XL.

I have stretchmarks. Do I have to show my belly?
It’s your choice, to cover your belly, or bare it for a few images. In either case, I always provide gentle retouching.

Will you retouch all of my images?

I hand edit and professionally retouch all of your delivered images for a beautiful AND natural result.

When will I receive my images from my session?

Your private online gallery will be ready for viewing and downloading within 2 weeks of your session.

I don’t know how to pose, will you help me?

I light and pose expecting moms so they look their best. Even the most nervous of clients leaves laughing and gushing about how much fun she had.
